Thank You, JCC!

Hiya Friends, In Feb & March I had the special opportunity to perform a cappella lullabies live for families during the seasonal R&R program at the JJC. It was so freaking magical I can not tell you how many touching moments I experienced. My performance included 30 minutes of a cappella singing, soft mats to relax on, lots of pillows and eventually dim lighting and sparkly star string lights. Those that came to listen included little ones from 6 mos to 8 years, parents and grandparents - all ages were able to rest, lay down, relax, unwind, and be intimate together. Many songs they didn't know the words to and the ones they did they softly sang along with me.

I have never attended a performance like this from anyone, nor had I ever done this myself, and I have to say it was a total hit - in fact, the JCC has invited me to come back again next year! As far as community outreach, I know there will be more opportunities to do these kind of performances as people are caring more and more about the science behind a cappella lullabies and the wellness benefits that they offer. I'm hoping to perform at facilities that offer mommy/baby yoga, lactation classes, preschools, day cares - even private in-home performances (this is NYC, ya'll, anything is possible) in the future!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures that were snapped throughout the 5 weeks I was there. A very special thank you to my dear friend, Barbara Marest, for being my onsite photographer ;)

Lastly, I am so deeply grateful for the JJC for having faith in me and believing in what I am trying to do at Little Darling. This community center is so open-minded, inclusive, generous, positive, encouraging and BEAUTIFUL, by the way. If you have never been you must check them out - tons of programs, workshops and performances you can attend, many for free.

Thanks for checking in, I hope you enjoy.

With love,
